Jonah Dare White 12/06/10 -02/16/11
I am Jonah Dare. I lived 10 weeks and learned to be grateful for the kindness of others. I want to thank all of the cute girls who brought cookies and cupcakes, the beautiful ladies who crocheted and quilted snuggly blankets, the culinary skill of thoughtful Utah county moms, the boys in the hood for hosting BYU games, and ESPN for creating the new “Jimmer” segment (BTW my mom can beat you in PIG), the coaches and Bantam basketball league for last second game winning shots, the people at IHC for tolerable torture, the funny old man with a $100 bill, the many kissin’ cousins, aunties, and uncles, the hope from Hope Kids, my big sister for sharing her cereal and the basketball ladies for dislodging it, the OT’s from Kids Who Count who persuaded me to SMILE, the RS for EVERYTHING and the Hip Hop artists that make my mom “shake it” with me in her arms. Mostly, I thank Heavenly Father for my chance at life with a beautiful mom, a lucky father, 4 loving sisters, and 3 brothers who are my heroes (especially Tai Nui!). Funeral services will be Feb. 23, at 950 S. 1700 E., Springville at 11 am, viewing at 10 am.

ReplyDeleteSo I was reading the obits and saw Jonah's as soon as I saw mom winning at PIG I knew it was you guys. I'm on bed rest myself otherwise I'd be at the funeral. I love your humor and your spiritual strength and example of the love of the Savior. Thanks for being such an amazing family! Our prayers are with you and your kiddos. Jay and Julie Riley!
ReplyDeleteBrought to your story because I googled "Jimmer". :) Fantastically beautiful obit for an absolutely stunning Child of God. My prayers will include your family. My own family has been through a similar trial, and we are the better for it. I am sure your family will be stronger and tighter when all is said and done. I can see that your family is one that lives worthy of such an amazing blessing.
ReplyDeleteI found your story just clicking through some links on KSL. I am sitting here at work reading through the blog and in tears. I am truly sorry for your loss. I am a 32 your old father of 2 and I do not know how you guys can be so strong during such a trial. The pictures of him living a full life in one day are the greatest. This really has made me realize how blessed me and my wife are for having 2 healthy children and a 3rd one on the way. I hope that you try again and have a healthy child this time around. You are an inspiration and your son has truly touched my heart. I wish you and your family the best.

ReplyDeleteI love the obituary (so glad you shared your blog through the Herald). So cute and so much personality. My heart aches for your loss. I recently lost my little guy as well. I hope your family finds peace at this time of loss. If you would ever like to attend a support group, there is a great one here in Utah Valley. I know you don't know me, but know that you are in my prayers today.
ReplyDeleteMom really truly is beautiful and Dad is a lucky duck, well said. I love the obit! Way to celebrate all that God had given us,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss, what an amazing tribute to your little boy. Behka you are such an inspiration to me. I will never forget the day you told me you were going to have Jonah, we were sitting on a blanket at the kickball game. You told me of the loss of your other children, I was in tears by the end of the game. I have learned a lot from you. My prayers are with you and your little family. Amy Smith
ReplyDeleteFound your blog through the obituaries. I am so sorry for your loss, but I know Jonah is now doing all the things he couldn't do here on earth. I feel blessed to have seen your blog. I can't even imagine what your life has been through losing 3 children! You are an amazing family. I have 5 healthy kids and I now love them even more (if possible) after reading your story. Thank You! Miracles do happen I can attest to that. He was a beautiful baby. (((HUGS))) to your family.
ReplyDeletewhat an amazing service! i came right home and papered framed Jonahs service program and put it on my fridge. it says....find the joy and enjoy doing it...thanks Behka. My heart is full as i also learned how important each moment is to your family, as Rob showed how to share....I would love to share. In my rush this morning i was irritated at the timeing when my baby had a real messy diaper. At the service he was able to fall asleep and i was able to enjoy the service without any interruptions. My oldest called it the messy miracle. Thanks for helping me see the Lords help even in the messy things and for letting me hold an angel.
ReplyDeletethis is the cutest, sweetest obituary I've ever read. you guys are awesome. lots of love and prayers sent your way.
