Jonah was born with Walker-Warburg syndrome, a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy that includes having very little brain tissue. Most babies with this syndrome live anywhere from a few hours to a few months. We don't know how long we will have Jonah, but we will LOVE HIM every second and trust God's timing. Welcome to the sweet moments of Jonah's life.
Wow, what a beautiful sight. I want to share some thoughts that I have been having for the last few days, and these pictures have really driven them home.
Here's the question I want to pose. "What if we all treated each of our children like this was the last time we would hold them, the last time we would kiss them as they ran out the door, or the last time we would get to tell them how much we love them." I am so thankful that our Heavenly Father has sent Jonah to your famiy, Robert and Behka. You are amazing parents with great insight and talent in caring for your children. You truly have been preordained for the experiences that you are having with these special spirits. It is an opportunity for all of us to understand the plan of salvation better. I for one need to value the chance I have to be a parent more. This experience with Jacob, Josiah, and Jonah has led me to understand that although we call them "my children" or "our children" they really are not. They are His children and he has entrusted us with this marvelous opportunity to raise, teach and cherish his children. Again, to all the parents out there, ...If we knew that our days with our children were numbered, would we treat them the same way?... Would I get so frustrated with them when they still don't get it right? Would I raise my voice? I for one have wasted to much time being angry or frustrated with my kids. I love them dearly, and soon, they will be leaving my care, as one, technically already has. Time is precious. Life is precious. Life is a gift.
Behka and Rob, thank you for the little glimpses of heaven that you have given me in sharing your precious Jonah with us. I can't always be there with him but I hope you accept my determination to be a better caretaker of His children in lieu of being there. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
What a beautiful, precious, little spirit, Behka. You are amazing. Ditto to what Moana said. I am in constant awe of your strength, courage, and faith. I love all the pictures of Jonah. Absolutely beautiful.
